Dr. Michael Moates is a distinguished scholar-practitioner. He is clinical psychologist, professor, journalist/editorialist, and legislative mental health advocate with a profound commitment to advancing the field of psychology through education, research, and clinical practice.

Dr. Moates is a therapist who helps people change their behavior in a way that’s good for them. He uses methods backed by scientific research to help individuals, families, and groups.

He focuses on figuring out why people act in certain ways that might be causing them problems and then helps them develop strategies to change those patterns. He believes in treating the whole person, looking at their mental and physical health together.
